Candy is the solo moniker of Melbourne creative Calum Newton. Formerly of Lunatics on Pogosticks and Amyl + The Sniffers, Candy sees Newton embrace post-punk and dream-pop of all eras –with driving basslines and shimmering melodies crafted entirely in his bedroom.

Having previously released three mixtapes of bedroom-pop through tastemaker label Z-Tapes, in 2018 Candy, unveiled his plans to release his debut album. 'Apartment in the City’ and 'Hiding from the Sun’ are the perfect introductions to the project, bright and breezy slices of dream-pop. Candy’slive show is dynamic and visceral – taking the intensity of the post-punk bands of the 80's and adapting it for a modern audience. Whether performing solo or with a band Candy engages his audience with his inimitable presence and emphatic delivery all the while allowing a meld of melodic guitars and synths to wash over them.
