PREMIERE:
SLEEPCLUB
Off the back of an Australian East Coast tour with Eves Karydas, Brisbane's favourite dream pop trio sleepclub today release their sophomore single Slow Down. The single is the follow up from the band's debut Cut You which received highly regarded accolades from Triple J presenters as well as gaining airtime on the radio. Slow Down showcases the band's instrumental capabilities and boasts a new dynamic that contrasts to the debut's poppier synth-driven sound.
Having solidified their spot in Brisbane's local scene after supporting the likes of Jack Ladder and the Dreamlanders, Flowertruck, Jess Locke, Major Leagues and featuring on festivals such as Sad Grrrls Fest and Against the Grain Festival, the trio's live set really shows off the members' instrumental capabilities and their musical dynamic as a band.
Lead vocalist on the latest single, Amber Ramsay writes, "the lyrics of Slow Down sing of a sappy love story and project the lust for staying in moments of happiness and affection". The song's lyrics are a perfect contrast to the dark guitar tones of the song and the boomy drums that explode in the outro. Produced by Yanto Browning (The Jungle Giants, Big Scary) and mastered by Tristan Hoogland (Golden Vessel, Woodes, Ball Park Music) the track introduces a new sound to their discography and a hint at what's to come.
The band will be launching the song on the 31st of August at Bloodhound Bar with support from Pool Shop and Vladik.
