PREMIERE: CHAKRA EFENDI

Don't Go - Video

Today we are premiering up and coming Brisbane artist, Chakra Efendi's first music video for his latest single Don’t Go. Produced at Eleven PM Studios on the Sunshine coast with Ethan Greaves, the track puts an attractive sheen on Chakra’s traditionally lo-fi sensibilities.

Having solidified his place in the scene over the last year by sharing stages with the likes of Mossy, Gum and The Ocean Party and completing his first headline tour in March, Chakra’s witty lyricism, jazzy guitar progressions and teenage anguish seems to have struck a chord with crowds and concreted him as an emerging act worth keeping an eye on.  Don’t Go proves no different, as the song’s immersive arpeggios, honed rhythms and explosive choruses which have caught the ears of a large demographic of Australian youngsters.
The track’s tongue in cheek melancholy nature isn’t lost in the video. Chakra meanders through the Brisbane CBD under the direction of filmmaker Tom Carrol, pausing only for cigarettes and soft drink between listless guitar strums.

To launch the new clip, Chakra will be performing at Bloodhound in Fortitude Valley on the 12th of May with support from local acts Pink Matter and Felivand.
